Haier launches voice control washing machine

Hyderabad Chinese multinational home appliances and consumer electronics company, Haier on Friday announced the launch of its new artificial intelligence enabled washing machine series, Haier 979 front load with direct motion motor and 52.5 cm drum. The 10 kg capacity washing machine comes at a price of Rs 95,990; with three years comprehensive warranty and 20 years of warranty on the motor.

The product is made in India at its facilities in Ranjangaon, Pune, and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The Chinese home appliances maker said its focus is on producing premium products through local manufacturing in India. "Our new IoT-enabled front load 979 series washing machine leverages on advances in AI and offers intelligent and personalised laundry solutions to consumers. The festive season gives us an opportunity to launch this product and hopefully increase our market share by five per cent in this washing machine segment through our IoT-enabled product series," president of Haier Appliances India, Satish NS said.

The washing machine features Haier's direct motion motor for reduced vibration of the machine and noiseless performance. It also increases the longevity of the washing machine.

Satish further informed that the IoT-enabled features and artificial intelligence provides better laundry experience. The washing machines also come with inbuilt voice control technology and a touch panel, so that the buyer can command and engage with the washing machine from any part of their home using voice command through a wi-fi connection.

Moreover, the upgraded software equipped with AI-DBS (Dynamic Balance System) ensures that the washing machine is stable and silent during the entire wash cycle, the president added.
