Realme has just introduced its newest flagship smartphones, the GT 8 Pro and GT 8, which represent the next tier in their upscale series. Snapdragon’s 8 Elite Gen 5 processor from Qualcomm and a separate graphics chip R1 are the driving force behind the GT 8 Pro. The phone has a 7,000mAh battery that lasts for a long time. With a 2K OLED display that has a 144Hz refresh rate and an IP69, IP68, and IP66 rating for high protection against dust and water, the device is packed.
GT 8 Pro has a very novel look-a changeable off from the backside, letting you swap on and off the camera housing with the Deco modules such as Functional Robot, Classic Round, Square, and Transparent Rubik’s Cube styles. In contrast, last year’s GT 7 Pro keeps the traditional look of a glass back and a slim silhouette in Mars Orange and Galaxy Grey with a conventional glass back and a slim silhouette. Its square camera module has three sensors and LED flash, with Hyperimage branding that is very discreet.
Display technology has taken a considerable leap with the arrival of the GT 8 Pro. The 6.7-inch Sky Dome OLED panel with 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate is the highlight of the device. The advanced touch sampling—3200Hz instantaneous and 360Hz four-finger—paves the way for the most responsive interaction.
The combination of Q10 and BOE luminous materials enables the display to reach 7,000 nits of peak brightness for outdoor clarity. GT 7 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with a 6.78-inch OLED Plus panel with 2780x1264 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a tone adaptive feature coupled with eye-comfort modes.
GT 8 Pro is the one that has the driver with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It has a cooling system of 7,000mm² which is larger than the previous models and covers all the heating sources. The R1 graphics chip has super-frame and super-resolution capability in 100+ games and thereby the titles that are hot are coupled with high frame rates keeping them high.
The GT 7 Pro has been equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor that also supports AI Gaming Super Resolution and Super Frame. All these blessings are aimed mainly at the performance boost in certain games such as Free Fire, BGMI, and Honor of Kings, among others.
The GT 8 Pro boasts of a trio of rear cameras consisting of a 50MP Ricoh GR primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 200MP telephoto lens with 120x digital zoom, plus a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Moreover, Realme has worked with Ricoh to provide users with the option of using the “Ricoh GR Mode” that emulates the company’s professional camera experience. On the other hand, the GT 7 Pro houses a 50MP main sensor along with 50MP telephoto and 8MP ultrawide lenses for the rear camera and a 16MP shooter for the front camera.
The GT 8 Pro is equipped with a huge 7,000mAh battery providing 120W wired and 50W wireless charging options, thus making it possible to go from empty to 50% charge in just about 15 minutes. The GT 7 Pro has a limited 5,800mAh battery but it can still provide fast charging at 120W, and thus, full charging in around 30 minutes can be achieved.
The starting price of the GT 8 Pro in China is CNY 3,999 (nearly Rs 50,000) for the version having 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The prices of the different variants with more memory or storage are between CNY 4,299 and CNY 4,699 (around Rs 53,000–58,000). The GT 7 Pro was sold at Rs 59,999 for the version with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage in India, and it was priced at Rs 65,999 for the model with 16GB RAM + 512GB storage. The launch offer included price cuts of Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively for the two variants, making the final price Rs 56,999 and Rs 62,999.
