Google’s NotebookLM Mobile Apps Available for Pre-Order Ahead of May 20 Launch
Google is expanding access to its AI-powered research tool, NotebookLM, with mobile apps for Android and iOS now available for pre-order. According to app store listings, the official launch is set for May 20.
Originally introduced in 2023 as a desktop-only platform, NotebookLM helps users—ranging from students to professionals—digest complex information through smart summaries and document-based Q&A features. One standout tool is Audio Overviews, which turns research material into AI-generated podcasts for easier understanding.
Screenshots from the app listings show that users will be able to:
Create and access notebooks
Upload and view research sources
Listen to generated Audio Overviews directly from their mobile devices
The apps will also support iPads and tablets, providing more screen space for multitasking.
Users can pre-order on the App Store or pre-register on Google Play now. Once released, the app will auto-download on May 20.
The launch coincides with Google I/O, where the company is expected to reveal additional details about the mobile rollout and upcoming features.
