Google’s Nano Banana AI Now on WhatsApp – Generate Pro-Level Images Fast

Google’s image generation AI, Nano Banana, also known as Flash Image Model 2.5, has gained massive traction online, dominating social media conversations. The AI follows the earlier ChatGPT Ghibli trend, which had captured global attention for its creative outputs. Nano Banana is designed to generate a wide range of images, from retro 4K portraits to trending fashion visuals.
Perplexity AI, a leading AI startup, has now made Nano Banana available on WhatsApp, bringing the powerful AI engine to a platform with millions of users in India and worldwide. This move positions Nano Banana above Meta AI’s existing image tools in terms of quality and output.
Perplexity AI announced that WhatsApp users can now access the Nano Banana engine directly through the Perplexity bot. The company has integrated Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash engine into the platform, enabling high-quality image generation without needing to visit Gemini or Google AI Studio. Users must first save Perplexity’s WhatsApp number, +1 (833) 436-3285, and initiate a chat with the bot.
Aravind Srinivas, co-founder and CEO of Perplexity, shared the news on X, emphasizing that this integration provides access to the “highest-quality model” on Meta-owned WhatsApp.
How It Works
After starting a conversation with the bot, users can upload an image and provide a descriptive prompt. Detailed prompts produce the most accurate and realistic results, allowing the AI to replicate images with precision. Examples include close-up, well-composed shots or trend-based visuals like traditional sarees, all maintaining the same fidelity as Google’s native applications.

Perplexity has not confirmed whether Nano Banana’s WhatsApp integration is free. Google offers limited free access to its AI engine, with premium subscriptions providing extended usage, which could also apply to Perplexity’s bot.
India currently leads in Nano Banana usage, with the Gemini app topping charts on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. Adding WhatsApp access is expected to significantly boost engagement, making it easier for users to experiment with AI-generated images.
