Google Rolls Out October 2025 Update for Pixel 7, 8, 9, 10 Series

Google has started the phased rollout of its October 2025 software update for all supported Pixel smartphones and tablets running Android 16. The company confirmed the update via its official Made by Google account on X on October 9. Availability will vary by device model, carrier, and region, with notifications sent to users when the update is ready.

The update targets improvements in system stability, display performance, and user interface functions. Google recommends users check their Android version and update manually if necessary to access the latest enhancements.

Eligible Pixel devices for this update include the Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Pixel 8, 8 Pro, 8a, Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. Japanese variants of Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL are also receiving specific builds. The Pixel 6 series is not listed among supported devices this month.

Google’s October update addresses several critical issues. For display and graphics, the update resolves flickering and sudden shutdown problems on some Pixel 7 units and fixes frozen or fuzzy screens on the Pixel 10 series. System stability improvements include resolving unexpected shutdowns and instability on the Pixel Tablet.

Interface-related fixes include correcting semi-transparent backgrounds appearing after camera launch, resolving flashlight status errors in the At a Glance widget, and preventing crashes during media casting via the Media Output Switcher. Users can expect smoother system performance and enhanced device reliability after applying the update.
