Google Reduces Daily Limits on Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro for Free Users: Here’s What’s Changed
Google has reduced daily limits for free users on Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro due to high demand. Users can now generate only two images per day with Nano Banana Pro, while Gemini 3 Pro access is restricted. Here’s what’s changed and what remains available.
Google reduces daily usage limits for Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro as surging demand strains AI capacity.

Google has tightened usage limits on its new AI models—Gemini 3 Pro and the Nano Banana Pro image generator—after both tools witnessed a surge in global demand. The company has now placed stricter daily caps for free users as server load continues to increase.
Free Users Face New Daily Restrictions
When Gemini 3 Pro launched earlier this month, Google allowed free users to submit up to five prompts per day, similar to the earlier Gemini 2.5 Pro model. Nano Banana Pro, however, already had a tighter limit of three image generations per day.
But in Google’s newly updated usage guide—first spotted by 9to5Google—the limits have been cut even further.
Nano Banana Pro: Free users can now generate only two images per day.
Gemini 3 Pro: Free users now get only basic access, though Google has not clarified the exact number of prompts.
Google attributed the change to massive user activity.
“Image generation and editing is in high demand. Limits may change frequently and will reset daily,” the company noted in its updated documentation.
NotebookLM Features Temporarily Scaled Back
Google has also temporarily disabled Nano Banana Pro–powered features such as Infographics and Slide Decks inside NotebookLM due to server capacity constraints.
These features were widely appreciated for converting lengthy documents—like research papers and books—into visually simplified summaries.
The company says the rollback is temporary:
“Due to the overwhelming demand, we’re experiencing some capacity constraints… we plan on bringing everything back to normal as soon as we can.”
What’s Still Available for Free and Pro Users
Despite the new restrictions, Google clarified that older models remain more accessible:
- Free users can still generate up to 100 images per day using the previous-generation Nano Banana model.
- They can also perform up to five Deep Researches per day using the Gemini Fast model.
- Meanwhile, AI Pro subscribers continue to enjoy expanded capabilities, including generating up to 100 images per day with Nano Banana Pro.
Google’s latest move highlights the growing strain on AI infrastructure as advanced models become mainstream—and how companies are balancing access with capacity.
