Google is introducing a new feature for the Play Store that will allow users to uninstall applications from devices that are not with them. The feature is included in version 48.8 of the Play Store app, which commenced its gradual release on November 10.
The update log on Google's System Release Notes page confirms that the latest version lets users in my hand.
Google Play, up to this point, only had a remote installation feature—users were allowed to install an app on other associated Android devices through the “Available on more devices” section. The “Uninstall” button option could soon be included in that same menu after updating, therefore, enabling remote app removal from any linked phone or tablet.
The change makes things easier than ever since it was previously a cumbersome process. The app for remote uninstall needed to be done through Play Store settings by accessing 'Manage apps and devices' first, then finding the app and selecting the device manually. When Play Store v48.8 comes to all devices, getting rid of apps quickly will require just a few taps from the app listing itself.
This change is going to be very gradual and is going to take some time. Users who wish to know if the update has been activated can go to Google Play > Profile icon > Settings > About > Update Play Store.
