Google Maps has rolled out a smart new feature exclusively for iPhone users, making it easier than ever to save locations on the go. With this update, users can now save places directly to their Google Maps simply by taking a screenshot.

The feature uses Google’s advanced image recognition technology to analyze screenshots containing location details—such as addresses, maps, or landmarks—from other apps. Once a screenshot is captured, Google Maps automatically identifies the relevant location data and prompts users to save it to their “Saved Places” within the app.

Originally announced in March, this feature eliminates the need to manually search for locations captured in screenshots. Whether users come across a place on social media, a website, or in a messaging app, they can now store it with a single tap—without switching between the Photos app and Google Maps.

By streamlining this process, Google Maps enhances user convenience and helps better organize potential destinations for future visits or exploration. It's especially useful for those who often discover interesting spots online and want to keep track of them effortlessly.
