Google Launches Veo 3.1 AI Video Generator with Enhanced Realism and Filmmaking Features in Flow
Google launches Veo 3.1 AI video generator with improved realism, native audio, and powerful new filmmaking tools in Flow via Gemini API.
Google unveils Veo 3.1 video models via Gemini API, introducing richer audio, enhanced realism, and new Flow editing tools for filmmakers.

Google has introduced the new video models based on AI — Veo 3.1 Standard and Veo 3.1 Fast — through the Gemini API, which is a major milestone in AI-assisted filmmaking. These new versions use the already popular Veo 3 as their baseline, thus creating the most life-like visuals, the richest sound, and the highest level of creative prompt compliance, and so, they elevate the AI video generation process to a new height.
According to Google’s official blog, Veo 3.1 offers improved prompt accuracy and the ability to produce “richer native audio,” featuring natural dialogue, synchronized sound effects, and a deeper understanding of cinematic storytelling styles.
New Features in Veo 3.1
Veo 3.1 enhances user control and creativity with several new and improved tools:
- Extend: Continue a video seamlessly from a previous clip.
- Frames to Video: Generate a complete video by setting the first and last frames.
- Ingredients to Video: Shape a video’s tone and visuals using up to three reference images.
While these tools existed in Veo 3, the new version adds native audio generation to all, making each clip more lifelike and immersive.
Pricing and Availability
The pricing remains unchanged — $0.40 per second for Veo 3.1 Standard and $0.15 per second for Veo 3.1 Fast.
The models are now available on Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, and via the Gemini app and Flow, Google’s AI filmmaking platform.
Advanced Editing in Flow
For creators looking to fine-tune their clips, Flow provides powerful editing capabilities. Users can:
Insert new elements into scenes using the Insert tool, which automatically adjusts shadows and lighting for a natural look.
Remove unwanted objects or characters, with Flow intelligently reconstructing the background to appear untouched.
With Veo 3.1, Google continues to push the boundaries of AI-assisted filmmaking — blending creativity, precision, and cinematic control like never before.
