Google Discover Update: Social Posts, YouTube Shorts, and Articles Coming Soon
Google Discover update brings social media posts, YouTube Shorts, and new follow features, offering users a more personalised feed from favourite creators and publishers.
Google Discover now supports social media posts, YouTube Shorts, and personalised creator updates

In order to integrate social media posts into the Discover feed, Google has further enhanced the interface example by implementing the follow options so users can customise content from their favourite creators and publishers.
Expanded Content Sources
In the next few weeks, Discover will be serving a larger variety of content, including posts from X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, alongside articles. More platforms would be introduced soon. This update is a response to users' inclination to see a healthy mixture of videos, social posts, and written content while browsing through Discover.
Follow-Based Personalisation
A new mode of following has been introduced, allowing subscribers to track their favourite creators and publishers right inside Discover. It allows users to discover content-view articles, videos, and social posts-before following a creator or publisher. After following, updates from the respective publisher or creator will appear in a specified window, so long as the user is logged into their Google Account.
Strengthening Audience-Publisher Connections
With the earlier updates allowing users to select their preferred news sources in Top Stories, these features facilitate creators and publishers more than ever to reach audiences, who are increasingly to interact in Discover as a more personalised avenue for compelling online content.
