Samsung is set to launch its first tri-fold smartphone, reportedly named the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold, this month. Sources suggest the device will debut initially in South Korea, with wider availability in other markets still unconfirmed.
According to industry leaks, Samsung may announce the new foldable at a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for September 29, 2025. The launch is expected to coincide with reveals of the Project Moohan XR headset and the AI-powered Galaxy Glasses. All three products will be showcased first in Samsung’s home market, while international release dates have not yet been disclosed.
Earlier reports hinted at a broader event schedule for September, including a Galaxy Unpacked session on September 4 focusing on the Galaxy Tab S11 series and the Galaxy S25 FE. The September 29 event, however, is likely to highlight Samsung’s next-generation hardware innovations.
Tipster Ice Universe, posting on Weibo, has indicated that the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold will be officially introduced during the September 29 event. The foldable phone, along with Project Moohan XR and Galaxy Glasses, is expected to be available in South Korea first. Global rollout plans have not been confirmed, leaving potential buyers in other regions awaiting further announcements.
Reports suggest the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold could carry a premium price tag of around $2,930 (approximately Rs. 2,60,000). The device is anticipated to launch in South Korea and China initially. The Project Moohan XR headset is expected to retail between $1,800 and $2,000 (roughly Rs. 1,80,000). While the headset may see a global launch later, Samsung has not provided a timeline for its international availability.
