Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold7 in India, signaling a major leap forward in the foldable smartphone segment. After years of refinement, the Z Fold7 emerges as a fully matured device, backed by performance-grade hardware, functional design, and long-term software support.

The Z Fold7 comes in three configurations: 12GB+256GB priced at Rs 1,74,999, 12GB+512GB at Rs 1,86,999, and 16GB+1TB at Rs 2,16,999. It is available via Samsung's official store, Amazon, and authorized retail outlets across India.

Weighing just 215g and measuring 8.9mm when folded, the Galaxy Z Fold7 achieves a slimmer, lighter form factor without sacrificing durability. Built using Advanced Armor Aluminum and protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and Victus 2, the phone is robust enough for everyday use. A redesigned Armor Flex Hinge supports various angles for hands-free operation in Flex Mode. The updated 21:9 cover screen is now more usable, offering better one-handed interaction for common tasks.

Samsung equips the Z Fold7 with two 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays using LTPO tech. The outer 6.5-inch FHD+ screen is bright and functional, while the inner 8.0-inch QXGA+ panel reaches 2600 nits brightness and provides an immersive experience for multitasking and content. The crease is minimal during usage. However, the absence of a built-in S Pen continues to limit the productivity aspect of the larger screen.

Running on One UI 8 atop Android 16, the Z Fold7 will receive seven years of OS and security updates. Samsung's integration of Galaxy AI includes features such as Circle to Search, Live Translate, and Generative Edit, all functioning smoothly. Features like persistent Taskbar and Multi-Active Window streamline multitasking across apps, taking full advantage of the large display area.

Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite for Galaxy chipset, the device handles intensive tasks and multitasking effortlessly. RAM options include 12GB and 16GB, with storage up to 1TB. The 4,400mAh battery provides over six hours of screen-on time. Charging is supported at 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless. Charging speeds remain modest compared to 2025 competitors offering faster alternatives.

The rear camera setup is led by a 200MP main sensor, joined by a 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto lens. Daylight and low-light photography quality is high, supported by Samsung's ProVisual Engine. Video can be captured at 8K 30fps and 4K 60fps. The device also offers two 10MP front-facing cameras, both capable of 4K 60fps, with cover screen acting as a viewfinder for rear camera selfies.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 sets a new standard for foldable smartphones. Its lighter build, refined hinge, high-performance specs, and practical software enhancements make it a compelling option for users looking to invest in cutting-edge technology. Despite its premium pricing and lack of integrated stylus, the Fold7 is no longer a prototype — it is a complete, polished, and viable daily device.
