Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 users get Android 16 One UI 8 surprise update

Samsung has begun releasing the Android 16-based One UI 8 update for multiple devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy M36, and Galaxy F36. The rollout is currently taking place across Asia, Africa, and Europe, as reported by users in different regions.
For Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, the update arrives with firmware versions F936BXXUAIYIF and F721BXXUAIYIF. The latest October 2025 security patch is included, improving the overall protection of the devices. The update file is around 3 GB in size and can be installed manually by navigating to Settings, then Software Update, and selecting Download and Install.
Galaxy M36 and F36 devices are also receiving the new firmware versions E366BXXU2BYI4 and F936BXXUAIYIF. These models currently include the September security patch. Several users have confirmed the rollout on Samsung’s official community forum and social media platform X.
The One UI 8 version introduces key functional changes across Samsung’s software ecosystem. The Samsung Internet browser has been redesigned for smoother performance, while multitasking has been optimized for better split-screen efficiency. Samsung DeX has been improved, offering enhanced connectivity and display options for external monitors. The Reminders and Calendar apps have received usability updates, and Samsung Health now includes additional tools to track wellness. Accessibility settings have also been expanded to support more customization options.
