The Samsung One UI 8.5 update, which is an anticipated update, has created hype among the Galaxy users especially the users who are focusing on the camera as the leaked builds are going to the point of developing the Pro camera mode significantly. While the release schedule is still up in the air, new findings in the code strongly indicate the introduction of camera presets and new sharing capabilities in the update, which are features that have been highly sought after by the Samsung fans.
One UI 8.5 has leaked strings that suggest camera settings may become the users' presets. The parameters of these presets could be very extensive, such as focus type (manual or auto), ISO, shutter speed, white balance, color tuning, and exposure. The new feature allows the users to effortlessly swap to the previously saved configurations, thus, helping them obtain the same result for different shooting styles like landscapes, sunsets, and so forth.
Moreover, the leaked code indicates the lens of the phone will be able to switch to front, wide, telephoto, super telephoto, and ultra-wide and multiple lenses will be supported. This means that presets could not only be customized for one camera but also for all lenses available on the device, thus, providing a photographers' extremely flexible experience.
The leaks also suggest a new integration with Quick Share that would allow Samsung Galaxy users to share their camera presets with others. How the company will handle compatibility between devices with different camera specs is unclear but such a feature, if done right, might even give the company an edge over other competitors.
Other Android flagships do have camera presets such as the vivo’s X300 Pro Street Photography mode but Samsung's may offer a combination of preset saving and sharing that would grant the Galaxy ecosystem a competitive advantage.
It should be emphasized that the features in question are based on APK teardowns and may not necessarily correspond to the final release. Samsung might change, postpone, or eliminate any feature before the public launch of One UI 8.5.
Professionals suggest that the first use of Pro camera presets may make it easier for advanced photography to Galaxy users and to Samsung more than other high-end Android makers in the aspect of camera flexibility and user convenience.
