Samsung is moving faster with its next flagship line, nevertheless, new leaks suggest that the Galaxy S26 series could come earlier than many were expecting, though not with the hardware modification that was anticipated by the users. New rumors from South Korea point out that Samsung has discontinued its plan for a camera upgrade in order to stabilize the prices.

A report from The Elec states that Samsung has decided to adapt the S25 camera system for the S26 series. Higher costs for parts reportedly made the company halt its upgrade of the picture sensor. The shift is thought to be Samsung trying to keep the prices the same—especially after Apple who increased the iPhone 17 price to the same level but at the same time provided more features.

For reference, the Galaxy S25 series went on sale in India at:

Galaxy S25 (128GB): Rs 80,999

Galaxy S25+ (256GB): Rs 99,999

Galaxy S25 Ultra (256GB): Rs 1,29,999

Galaxy S26 will most probably not get any new camera hardware. If the leak turns out to be true, then Galaxy S26 will be packed with:

50MP primary camera

12MP wide-angle

10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom

12MP selfie camera

This year, there might be no modification apart from the software and new Exynos 2600 that is introduced, rather there might be no lens or sensor changes. The report says that this sudden change also resulted in the delay of Samsung's internal development schedule.

Still, three models—S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra—is the expectation for Samsung, but the production calendar looks different. The Ultra may be the first to go into mass production, while the other two may begin in early next year.

As a result of the changed schedule, it has been indicated by the sources that Samsung may possibly even shift the global launch to February 2026, thus completely eliminating the traditional January slot for the launching. But, talk from the industry tells that if the manufacturing gets stable earlier, then Samsung might release the products "in the coming weeks".

Another leak, which WinFuture shared, suggests Samsung is getting ready to present an extensive range of accessories that are based on Qi2 technology. Qi2 uses magnets for both charging and attachment purposes, and Samsung is seemingly well prepared to make a huge commitment to it in this cycle.

Most of the official cases for the Galaxy S26 series are predicted to come with magnets, which consists of:

Magnetic silicone cases

Magnetic carbon cases (S26, S26+)

Transparent magnetic and rugged transparent magnetic covers

A new magnetic dual-ring holder

Charging speeds might also vary from one model to another.

Galaxy S26 Ultra: wireless charging up to 25W

Galaxy S26 / S26+: approximately 20W

Rumor has it that Samsung is also:

Developing a 5,000mAh magnetic wireless power bank with Qi2

Creating a new 25W magnetic wireless charger (model EP-P2900)

Moreover, there are plans for upgrading the screen protection

The whole series is expected to come with anti-reflective screen films, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra might again utilize the premium Gorilla Armor glass. The S Pen is anticipated to remain a non-compulsory extra for the Ultra model much like previous years.
