Samsung is all set to take the next step in its One UI 8.5 beta rollout for the Galaxy S25 series, as new information reveals an early January timeline for the third test build.
The South Korean tech giant started experimenting with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 QPR2 on December 8, thus making the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra the first devices to get this update. The first beta brought some user interface and system changes. On December 22, a second beta came up, which was mainly concentrating on issue reporting, stabilizing, and performance.
With these updates, the software is still undergoing development. Samsung plans to issue more beta versions before the final version is ready for releasing to the public. The latest news indicates that the next update will arrive soon.
A tipster named Tarun Vats shared information on X that Samsung may launch One UI 8.5 Beta 3 on either January 5 or January 6, 2026. This source had also predicted the time for the second beta accurately, adding credibility to the latest claim. However, the exact changes that the third beta will bring are not known at this point.
Usually, Samsung takes time during these interim releases to consider the feedback given by the testers, rectify system bugs, and improve the features before the stable rollout. Thus, users who have signed up for the beta program should anticipate mostly minor fixes under the surface rather than any new major features.
In the near future, Samsung is likely to present the stable release of One UI 8.5 along with the Galaxy S26 series, which is assumed to be during the months of January or February 2026. Following that premiere, the update will slowly make its way to the other supported Galaxy devices.
Galaxy S25 holders who are trying the beta will probably experience another update at least before the final software is released, considering that Samsung keeps on polishing its upcoming major One UI version.
