Samsung has started delivering the stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S23 lineup, following recent launches for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 FE, and Galaxy S25. The rollout currently covers South Korea, with other regions expected to receive the update in the coming days.
The new One UI 8, based on Android 16, is now available for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Reports indicate that beta testers will see an update package of approximately 450MB, while the full release may be around 3GB. In South Korea, the update carries firmware version S91xNKSU6EYI7.
Owners in South Korea can manually check for the update via Settings > Software update > Download and install. After downloading, selecting Install now will reboot the device to complete installation. Samsung has not confirmed simultaneous global availability, so release dates may vary by country.
One UI 8 introduces a redesigned Samsung Internet browser, updated Quick Share functionality, and a more secure Secure Folder. The DeX experience has been enhanced, leveraging Android 16’s Desktop Mode for improved usability.
System apps have also received updates:
* Camera app now supports a new gesture for quick controls.
* Alarms, Calendar, and Reminders feature improved management tools.
* Modes and Routines include additional actions and conditions.
* Weather app has refreshed graphics for better clarity.
* Bluetooth Auracast support has been expanded for audio casting.
The update aims to enhance both performance and user experience, making system navigation and app interaction smoother for Galaxy S23 series owners.
Samsung users worldwide can expect phased updates over the next few days, but availability will vary depending on the region.
