Xiaomi officially unveiled HyperOS 3, its next-generation operating system based on Android 16, scheduled for a live launch event on August 28, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
The new OS promises elevated user experience, featuring dynamic wallpapers, enhanced interconnectivity with Apple devices, smoother animations, and lifelike transitions. Optimized for both performance and visuals, HyperOS 3 introduces Material You expressive themes, Advanced Protection Mode, Live Updates, and improved predictive gestures.
Xiaomi immediately commenced beta testing in China right after the announcement. Eligible devices include:
Xiaomi 15 series: 15, 15 Pro, 15 Ultra, and 15S Pro
Redmi K80 lineup: K80 Pro and K80 Ultra
Tablets: Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro and Pad 7S Pro 12.5
MIX Flip 2 (foldable device) with smoother multitasking and dual-screen features.
Importantly, HyperOS 3 will come in dual variants: one supporting Android 16 for capable devices, and another based on Android 15 for older models, ensuring broader compatibility.
