Sony has rolled out its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 VII, across European markets. Released on May 13, the device introduces an updated performance and imaging suite built around the newly introduced Snapdragon 8 Elite platform and a refined triple-camera array.
At the heart of the Xperia 1 VII is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, built for top-tier performance. The chip is paired with 12GB RAM, delivering fast multitasking and smooth app handling. The device runs Android 15 out of the box and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery. It supports 30W wired charging via USB Type-C but does not offer wireless charging.
The phone features a 6.5-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and full-HD+ (1080x2340) resolution. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The handset measures 162mm in height, 74mm in width, and 8.2mm in thickness, and weighs 197 grams. It has an IPX8 rating for water and dust resistance.
Sony has equipped the Xperia 1 VII with a triple-camera setup at the rear, influenced by the company’s Alpha series. The configuration includes:
* A 48MP primary sensor using a 1/1.35-inch Exmor T sensor
* A 12MP telephoto lens
* A 48MP ultra-wide sensor using an Exmor RS lens
On the front, the device carries a 12MP selfie shooter.
The smartphone includes 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2TB through a microSD card. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Though not yet launched in India, the Xperia 1 VII is currently available in select European countries in three color options—Moss Green, Orchid Purple, and Slate Black.
