Samsung & UK Home Office Launch Anti-Theft Campaign for Galaxy Phones

Samsung has teamed up with the UK Home Office to launch a nationwide anti-theft campaign aimed at encouraging Galaxy phone users to activate enhanced security features. This joint initiative comes amid a surge in mobile-related crimes in the UK, including a staggering 1,055% rise in SIM-swap fraud in 2024.
Targeting over 40 million Samsung account holders across the UK, the campaign urges users to utilize newly introduced anti-theft tools available through the latest One UI 7 update. These include advanced features like Identity Check and Security Delay, designed to safeguard personal data in the event of phone theft.
These new tools enhance Samsung’s already robust Knox security platform, which now incorporates blockchain technology to provide even greater protection. The updated Theft Protection features are being rolled out not only to the latest devices but also to older flagship models such as the Galaxy S22, S23, Z Fold5, and Flip5.
To spread awareness, Samsung has launched a large-scale marketing campaign that spans major London landmarks and public transport hubs. Notable locations include the iconic Piccadilly Lights, as well as key underground and rail stations. The campaign is also reaching users via social media, online video platforms, and the Samsung Members app.
The collaboration underscores a shared commitment between Samsung and the UK government to combat mobile crime through innovation and public engagement. It also aligns with the Home Office’s broader push toward digital security solutions, including mobile and biometric identity verification initiatives.
Samsung's security update rollout will continue throughout 2025, gradually extending enhanced protection to more Galaxy devices. This move further reinforces Samsung’s commitment to user data safety and device security, following recent advancements in digital identity integration, such as mobile driver’s license support in several markets.
