Justin Bieber Slams Annoying iPhone Bug, Calls Out Apple Over iMessage Issue

Justin Bieber, a global pop star, seems to have had enough with Apple, and this time it’s about the dictation icon placement in iMessage which he found to be annoying, dirty, and intrusive. According to the singer, the placement of the dictation icon and send button is too close to one another, he continuously and unintentionally taps on them.
So what's the outcome? Music suddenly stops playing, messages get cut off, and frustration with texting in general arises.
Bieber declared, “The send button’s location should not become a hotspot for several functions” while expressing his displeasure with the Apple UI designs.
Not the First Time Bieber Has Complained About Apple
Bieber, the “Baby” singer, has not only complained about Apple’s iPhone experience on this occasion. He had previously complained on Instagram about how his music stops whenever he sends a message during his listening flow, and that is how he has to listen.
He even jokingly referred to Apple employees as deserving a “rear-naked choke hold” which fans interpreted as an outburst—not a threat but still emphasizing how troubled he is by the bug that keeps coming back.
Why Is This iMessage Problem Happening?
The problem seems to stem from the new iOS 26 update that Apple introduced earlier this year, which resulted in the company changing the layout somewhat, placing the dictation and send buttons too close together such that users inadvertently choose the wrong one.
Bieber isn’t the only one with this complaint. This is a typical case of a bad UI design decision, and as such, thousands of iPhone users all around the world have been coming in with reports with the same issue.
Will Apple Fix This in Future Updates?
Apple is recognized for its careful monitoring of user inputs and especially taking action when large groups of users complain. With the complaints now coming from not only everyday users but also high-profile celebrities like Justin Bieber, there’s a good chance that the company might change the iMessage layout in one of its future releases.
The company is already getting ready for the iOS 26.2 launch which is rumored to have a few performance-improving and bug-fixing features. Nevertheless, users should be warned that the Apple Intelligence features in this update are only going to be available on iPhone 15 Pro and above.
The Bigger Picture
Interface glitches, irrespective of how trivial they seem, have the potential to cause enormous inconvenience when they disrupt texting and music listening, which are the daily habits of most people. Justin Bieber’s public outburst has once again opened up a discussion on how even the likes of Apple sometimes miss the basic usability requirements.
The ball is now in Apple's court—will it listen and make the necessary design change?
