Apple unveiled iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 during its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2025, introducing an updated operating system lineup featuring a refreshed interface called "Liquid Glass". Alongside the design overhaul, Apple confirmed the list of devices eligible to receive the update.
iPhones equipped with an A13 Bionic chip or newer will receive iOS 26. Devices running on chips older than A13 — such as iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max — will not be eligible for the latest software version.

iPad Compatibility for iPadOS 26
iPads with A12 or newer chips — including A13, A14, A15, A16, and M-series processors — will support iPadOS 26. Here’s the breakdown by model:
