Apple Inc. is gearing up to launch the iPhone 17 lineup, expected to debut in September, aligning with the company's annual release pattern. The upcoming range is rumored to include four variants: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and an ultra-slim model titled iPhone 17 Air.
While speculation intensifies around the iPhone 17 features—ranging from enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities to upgraded camera systems and refined iOS functionality—Apple has initiated aggressive price cuts for its iPhone 16 series.
Among the iPhone 16 models, the 16e stands out due to its affordability and inclusion of Apple Intelligence, a proprietary AI integration introduced last year. This makes the 16e the most budget-friendly Apple device offering advanced AI tools.
Online retailer listings show the iPhone 16e (128GB) priced at Rs 53,600 following an 11 per cent markdown. Additional discounts up to Rs 4,000 can be applied with specific credit cards from Axis Bank and ICICI Bank. Buyers using eligible trade-ins can receive reductions as high as Rs 48,500, pushing the effective cost even lower.
The standard iPhone 16 (128GB, Black), equipped with an A18 chip and upgraded battery and camera capabilities, is currently retailing at Rs 73,500—a flat 8 per cent drop from the original price. The same credit card and exchange offers apply, potentially cutting the price by up to Rs 69,200 with qualifying exchanges.
Apple is reportedly using these incentives to streamline its inventory and increase adoption of Apple Intelligence before the iPhone 17 reveal. Parallel discounts are also being extended to the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max devices.
Industry analysts interpret the timing of these price drops as Apple’s strategy to keep customer engagement high ahead of the anticipated September unveiling.
