Huawei has officially launched the Pura 80 lineup in China, featuring four new smartphones: Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and Pura 80 Ultra. The launch signifies Huawei’s ongoing innovation in the smartphone industry despite its limited global market presence.

The Pura series, which replaces the former P-series, showcases Huawei’s advancements in mobile photography and connectivity. These new models highlight camera capabilities and next-gen satellite communication features that set them apart in the Chinese market.

The Pura 80 Pro is available for pre-order at CNY 6,499 (approx. Rs 77,300), while the Pura 80 Pro+ starts at CNY 7,999 (approx. Rs 95,100). The top-tier Pura 80 Ultra is priced at CNY 9,999 (approx. Rs 1,18,900) and will hit the market at a later date. The base model, Pura 80, is expected to be available in July.

The Pura 80 Pro and Pro+ are equipped with 1-inch 50MP sensors, offering variable apertures and upgraded telephoto and ultra-wide lenses. The Pura 80 sports a 12MP periscope camera with 5.5x optical zoom and a main sensor featuring adjustable aperture.

The devices support Beidou satellite messaging, now enhanced with image-sharing capability. The Pro+ model also includes Tiantong system support, allowing satellite connectivity without device alignment.

All models feature LTPO OLED screens with 120Hz refresh rates. Battery capacities range from 5,600mAh to 5,700mAh, with wired charging up to 100W and wireless charging reaching 80W on Pro models. Though chipsets remain undisclosed, Huawei claims performance gains via its in-house Ark Engine.

Huawei incorporates IP68/IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, Wi-Fi 7 support, USB 3.1 ports on premium models, and NearLink technology, its proprietary Bluetooth alternative.

Huawei no longer markets smartphones in India and several global regions, but the Pura 80 series underscores the company’s continued push for technological breakthroughs. The lineup serves as a reference point for upcoming innovations across global smartphone brands, particularly in camera systems and satellite connectivity.
