Google has now acknowledged Pixel 9 Pro and Pro 9 XL display problems that also affected eligible buyers. They launch a repair program for the afflicted.

Both programs and their details are now laid out on Google's support pages, to be beneficial to all the affected individuals now being supported.

1. Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL - Opened applications-processing power, spawning unexpected screen issues.

These included screen issues such as:

The Vertical line appears on the screen from the top to the bottom.

Flickering problems come up in various cases (Pixel 9 Pro is commonly reported).

Devices showing these defects are now covered under Google's extended repair program valid for at least three years straight from the original purchase date.

Not all phones will readily qualify, fortunately. Devices having:

• Cracked screens
• Damage to the cover glass
• Water or liquid exposure

will be disqualified. In the event of the device failing the eligibility check or having some unrelated damage, repair charges might be applicable.

When and Where Can You Get Repair Done?

The repair had already begun, officially, on the 8th of December, 2025. Eligible users can head down to either of the centers for a display replacement:

1. Walk-in service centers from Google
2. Authorized service providers
3. Online repair service providers.

After the repair is completed, Google extends a 90-day warranty service to additional guarantees.

Extended warranty of three years for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold

In another announcement, Google is extending a three-year manufacturer's warranty on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold from the date of the original retail purchase.

Although Google didn't give a precise description of the problems to be taken care of under this initiative, it confirmed that some of the devices might see functional problems.

Under the repair program:

A screen with a crack, scratched glass, or a liquid-damaged phone may be excluded

Any phone termed ineligible or has issues that are not covered under this program will attract a standard or regular repair or replaced fee

There are other problems covered under the usual warranty policy of Google.

It was seen as a powerful move from Google to declare the existence of the problem and, in the best manner possible, provide free repairs and prolong the warranty; this step underpins Google's stand for their customers.
