Samsung has confirmed that its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on July 9, 2025, in New York. The livestream of the event will begin at 7:30 PM IST on Samsung's official YouTube channel for Indian viewers. During the event, the company will introduce the next-generation foldable smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Samsung's announcement on social media platform X also introduced a pre-reservation window starting today and continuing through July 9. Customers in India can pre-reserve the upcoming foldables by paying Rs 1,999. This offer gives access to exclusive launch-day deals.
Leaks and early reports point to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 being Samsung’s most compact foldable yet. When unfolded, it may measure just 3.9mm in thickness and 8.9mm when closed. The device is expected to carry a triple rear camera setup, with a 200MP primary sensor. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite processor and supported by a 4,400mAh battery. Storage variants may include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
The Z Flip 7 could feature a redesigned outer display, possibly expanding to 4 inches. The main screen may reach 6.85 inches, paired with narrower bezels. Like its Fold counterpart, the Flip 7 is expected to run on Snapdragon's 8 Gen Elite platform. Additional hardware may include 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a 4,300mAh battery. Camera specifications could consist of a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP front sensor.
The foldable market has matured over recent years, moving from novelty to practical use cases. Earlier regarded as luxury devices, foldables are now becoming more accessible. For example, Motorola introduced its Razr 60 base variant at a Rs 50,000 price point.
Samsung appears to be responding to this trend with improved designs that emphasize longevity, reduced thickness, and possibly lower effective pricing when bundled with promotional offers and bank deals.
The upcoming Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 models are expected to offer better performance, improved heat dissipation, and enhanced durability. AI-powered features from the Galaxy ecosystem will likely play a prominent role in the new devices.
