The Apple iPhone SE 4 has been the subject of much speculation for months, with leaks indicating it will be the most affordable iPhone to feature Apple’s advanced intelligence and bring significant upgrades over the previous model. Although Apple has not officially announced the launch date, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the iPhone SE 4 could be unveiled as early as next week, finally ending the rumours.
According to Gurman, Apple will skip holding a dedicated launch event for the iPhone SE 4, opting instead for a press release announcement. The device is expected to go on sale later this month.
Apple iPhone SE 4: What to Expect
The iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to showcase a more modern design by removing the Home button in favour of a full-screen display, similar to the iPhone 14, complete with a notch for Face ID. The phone may feature a 6.1-inch OLED screen and could include the Dynamic Island feature, marking a major upgrade for the SE lineup. It is also expected to be powered by the powerful A18 chip, putting it on par with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
Camera upgrades include a rumoured 48MP rear sensor and a 24MP front camera, enhancing photography capabilities. Additionally, the SE 4 might switch to a USB-C charging port, replacing the traditional Lightning connector. Apple may also introduce its own in-house modem for cellular connectivity, moving away from Qualcomm modems, which would be a significant enhancement.
For context, Apple first introduced the iPhone SE series in 2016 as a budget-friendly option that retained premium features from its flagship models. The upcoming iPhone SE 4 is expected to be the biggest upgrade yet, combining a fresh design, the latest processing power, Apple Intelligence, and other enhancements.
