Adobe announced that its widely used video editing software, Premiere, will soon be available for iPhone users. The company confirmed that the mobile version of the tool is scheduled to launch later this month and is already open for pre-order on the Apple App Store.
The iPhone release marks the first time Adobe is offering Premiere as a standalone mobile app. The software will be free to download and will provide simplified access to core editing functions that have been part of the desktop version for years.
The rollout comes as short-form video platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts continue to dominate online content creation. Adobe said the app is aimed at creators who want professional editing tools on smartphones without depending on third-party solutions.
The Premiere iPhone app will feature a multi-track timeline, frame-accurate trimming, and unlimited video, audio, and text layers. Support for 4K HDR editing, automatic captioning, subtitle customization, voiceover recording, and sound layering will also be available. Unlike many free editors, Adobe confirmed that exported projects will not carry watermarks.
The app will incorporate Adobe’s Firefly AI system, enabling users to generate visuals, sounds, and video elements by entering text prompts. Additional AI-powered tools will include Enhance Speech for clearer audio and Generative Sound Effects for producing synchronized background tracks.
Users will also gain access to Adobe Stock’s free assets, including music, graphics, and video clips, along with Adobe Fonts and Lightroom presets.
Videos created on iPhones can be exported directly to social media with one tap. The app will automatically adjust aspect ratios for different platforms. For users seeking more advanced editing, projects can be transferred seamlessly to Premiere Pro on desktop.
While the iPhone launch is confirmed for this month, Adobe said an Android version is also in development. A release timeline for Android has not been announced.
