New Delhi: Swiggy has raised its platform fee by about 17 per cent to Rs17.58 per order from Rs14.99 earlier, mirroring a similar move by rival Zomato just days ago.
The hike, visible on the app, translates to an increase of roughly Rs2.59 per order (pre-GST). Swiggy said the revision is aimed at helping it “operate and maintain the platform”.
With this increase, both Swiggy and Zomato now charge nearly identical platform fees of around Rs17.58 per order, including GST. Zomato’s pre-GST fee currently stands at Rs14.90, up from Rs12.50 earlier.
The back-to-back hikes reflect rising cost pressures across the food delivery ecosystem, including higher fuel, LPG and logistics expenses, which impact restaurants and delivery partners alike.
Zomato had first introduced a platform fee of Rs2 per order in August 2023 and has steadily raised it over time. Its latest revision came after a previous hike in September 2025. The coordinated increase signals a broader shift among food delivery platforms towards improving margins in a competitive and cost-intensive market.
