vivo is preparing to introduce the X300 Ultra, which reports suggest will be the first smartphone to feature two 200MP cameras on the back panel. The setup is expected to include a primary 200MP sensor along with a 200MP periscope telephoto unit offering an 85mm focal length. A 50MP ultrawide module will complete the triple-camera system.
The periscope sensor is said to be built on a 1/1.4-inch type design, likely based on Samsung’s ISOCELL HPB sensor developed in collaboration with vivo. The same imaging hardware is also expected in the X300 Pro model. Alongside hardware, vivo will reportedly equip the Ultra variant with its proprietary video processing chip and its in-house imaging processor. The cameras will also integrate Zeiss T* lens coating to reduce glare and enhance optical performance.
For selfies and video calls, the X300 Ultra will include a 50MP front camera with autofocus support and a wide 92-degree field of view. The device is anticipated to run on Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship platform, which succeeds the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
With this configuration, vivo appears to be positioning the X300 Ultra as a camera-focused flagship, aiming to set a new benchmark in mobile photography. The device is expected to debut alongside the X300 and X300 Pro later this year.
