FIEO promotes Vizag as export hub
Federation of India Export Organisations (FIEO), an apex body set up in 1965 for export promotion in India, has organised an awareness session to promote Visakhapatnam as an export hub with the location of several industries and two ports in the vicinity.

Visakhapatnam: Federation of India Export Organisations (FIEO), an apex body set up in 1965 for export promotion in India, has organised an awareness session to promote Visakhapatnam as an export hub with the location of several industries and two ports in the vicinity.
The session was attended by over 150 exporters and entrepreneurs who were given the exposure on various emerging opportunities in export from the region.
K Unnikrishnan, Joint Director General, FIEO in his welcome address said that Visakhapatnam contributed 26 per cent of AP's total exports to become the largest district to contribute exports for the State. Focusing port-led development in the area will further enhance the industrial and export growth.
Presently AP ranks sixth in exports with a share of 4.6 per cent and the State can reach third position within five years by contributing 10 per cent of India's exports due to immense potentials to increase manufacturing and value-added activities in marine, pharma and healthcare, agro, chemicals, mineral based products.
