End of Galaxy Edge? Samsung S26 Lineup Could Drop Edge Model

It seems that Samsung is changing its flagship lineup strategy as there are hints that the Galaxy S26 series may be the last to offer the Galaxy Edge model. One indication is the company is taking a second look at the S26 Edge model due to the lack of interest in the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Although Samsung has not made any announcement there are many people in the industry who think that there is a possibility of the Edge model being dropped. This action corresponds with the previous whispers about the cancellation of the Galaxy S26 Plus, thus suggesting that next year’s Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event could possibly present with only three major models.

The Galaxy S25 Edge that was intro­duced with high hopes has been caught in delays that have hampered its market penetr­ation. On the other hand, the Apple iPhone Air, despite creating interest, is said to have a rather moderate sales forecast.

Current analysts say Samsung is now watching sales figures very closely before making decision on the product roadmap. Apple, however, is on the path of long-term innovations like foldable iPhones, making use of the Air’s thin and weight-light build for their design.

According to industry experts, the smartphone market has reached a critical juncture. The battery manufacturers are now contemplating even bigger batteries, with 8,000mAh units being one of the options, while the use of new materials such as silicon carbon for weight reduction has been adopted by some manufacturers. Speculations are rife that Samsung might revamp the Edge design for a possible comeback, however, on the other hand, the company may also go for the option of getting rid of the model altogether.
