Elon Musk Announces Alternative to Gmail - XMail

A few hours after a false image claiming that Gmail is going down caused a commotion in the tech industry, Elon Musk, owner of X platform (previously Twitter), dropped hints that the social media site will introduce an email service to compete with Google's.

Musk promised an email service would be available soon when asked whether he had any plans to launch one, Musk wrote "Coming" in response to an inquiry from X engineer and security team member Nate McGrady regarding the release of XMail.

According to a picture that went viral on social media, Gmail will be shut down in August 2024."Gmail is here to stay," Google said in response to the accusation. It should be mentioned, though, that Google is moving users away from the basic HTML view and towards the service's Standard view. On its sign-in page, Google has been displaying a new banner that reads "A new look is coming soon" to the users. A more contemporary design for the tech giant's sign-in page is also in the works, as was mentioned earlier.

After losing faith in Gmail, some users have stated their intention to switch to Xmail; however, others intend to keep using Gmail for less critical emails.
