Motorola is expanding its footprint in the ultra-thin smartphone segment, following devices like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge, Apple’s iPhone Air, and Tecno’s Pova and Spark Slim models. The company’s latest offering, named X70 Air in China and Edge 70 internationally, is set for a staggered rollout, with the Chinese launch happening this month.
Details on the global release of the Edge 70 had remained undisclosed until recently. Motorola’s Polish website has started teasing the device, gradually revealing new information every Wednesday ahead of its official unveiling on November 5. This phased reveal appears designed to generate early interest among prospective buyers.
The Edge 70 is expected to feature a 4,800 mAh battery, offering more capacity than Samsung’s S25 Edge and Apple’s iPhone Air, though slightly less than Tecno’s recent models. It supports 68W wired fast charging, allowing users to quickly replenish the device while on the move.
Retail listings in Italy have surfaced, indicating the device will cost between €709 and €801.91 for the top-tier configuration of 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The listings also highlight a Bronze Green finish, likely branded as Pantone Bronze Green, reflecting Motorola’s collaboration with Pantone.
Leaks suggest the Edge 70 will be exceptionally slim, measuring under 6mm. Photography enthusiasts can expect a 50 MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and an ultrawide lens that captures a 120-degree field of view. The design and camera setup aim to meet the needs of users seeking both style and functionality.
Motorola has incorporated stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, ensuring immersive sound quality for music, videos, and calls. The combination of slim form factor, advanced camera system, and robust audio features positions the Edge 70 as a strong contender in the premium mid-range segment.
