Edge 70 India Release Confirmed: Flipkart, Colours, Specs Unveiled
Flipkart lists Motorola Edge 70 India release on Dec 15. Key specs include Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, triple rear cameras, Pantone colours, and fast charging.

Motorola has officially announced December 15 as the launch date for the anticipated Edge 70 smartphone in India, thus putting an end to the weeks of speculation that had been stirred up by the teasers and the listing on Flipkart's microsite. Posting on social media platform X, the company revealed the date along with some hardware specifications which were discussed prior to the official release.
The device will be available for purchase from Flipkart, Motorola's online retail site, and the company's certified offline partners. Moreover, the brand has pointed out that the smartphone will offer three Pantone certified color choices in the Indian market.
Motorola announced that the Edge 70 would be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. There are three sensors in total comprising a 50-megapixel primary one which is the loudest among them. There is an LED flash which is located next to the camera island. The maximum video resolution will be 4K at 60fps as per the manufacturer.
On the other side, the phone will have a 50-megapixel quad-pixel camera for video calls and taking images.
The colors listed on the updated Flipkart listing page are Pantone Bronze Green, Pantone Gadget Grey, and Pantone Lily Pad. Motorola claims that the smartphone will have around 5.99mm thickness and will be made of an aircraft-grade aluminum frame weighing about 159g.
The smartphone's battery is 5,000mAh silicon-carbon, and supports wired charging of up to 68W and wireless charging of 15W. For the purpose of internal cooling, a vapour chamber system is used.
The Edge 70 comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel featuring 1.5K resolution, peak brightness of 4,500 nits, Gorilla Glass 7i, and Dolby Atmos sound enhancement.
The smartphone will come with Hello UI which is based on Android 16. Motorola has assured that it will provide three years of OS upgrades and four years of security patches, thus putting it in the long-term support bracket.
According to Motorola, the unit complies with the MIL-STD-810H toughness standards and receives both the IP68 and IP69 classifications for resistance against water and dust.
The Edge 70 is the newest and the best of the series that has also revealed the recent emergence of other models like the Edge 70 Ultra, which has been seen in leaked images and benchmark paper.
