Motorola has officially announced the Motorola Edge 70, the new smartphone of the Edge series, in India on Monday. The phone will be available both online and offline from December 23, and it will come in three unique Pantone color choices: Bronze Green, Gadget Grey, and Lily Pad.
The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model will be priced at Rs. 29,999, and the company is giving Rs. 1,000 off on the payment made with selected bank cards. Apart from Flipkart, the official Motorola India online store, and offline stores, customers can also buy the phone from these sales channels.
The device is powered by Android 16 with Motorola's Hello UI and is promised to get three major Android updates along with four years of security patches. It has a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The screen is capable of playing Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content for superior viewing.
Motorola has made the phone even more robust by giving it IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings along with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. The phone features an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, is only 5.99mm thick, and weighs 159g.
On the performance side, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor is the driving force, coupled with 8GB LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. To give the user a better experience Motorola has included different AI-powered functions like Next Move, Catch Me Up 2.0, Pay Attention 2.0, Remember This + Recall, and Co-pilot.
The camera system is made up of a 50MP primary rear sensor which comes with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a three-in-one light sensor that all make a square module. The front camera also boasts a resolution of 50MP. The video recording feature goes up to 4K at 60fps together with AI Video Enhancement, AI Action Shot, and AI Photo Enhancement which are all provided as tools for the content producer.
For its part, the battery life is brought about by a 5,000mAh silicon carbon cell that can provide up to 31 hours of continuous video playback. Besides that, the device has 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging support being able thus to be topped up with power quickly.
