Amazon has introduced the third-generation Echo Show 5 smart display in India, priced at Rs 10,999. The device brings improved audio output and better voice command reception while retaining its compact form factor.
The Echo Show 5 Gen 3 is listed on Amazon with a maximum retail price of Rs 11,999, though the company currently offers it at a lower rate. The duration of this introductory pricing has not been disclosed.
Maintaining the same 5.5-inch touchscreen display as its predecessor, the new Echo Show 5 is designed for compact spaces such as bedside tables. The display size and layout suggest a focus on smart alarm features rather than extensive media viewing, which remains the domain of larger Echo models like the Show 8 and Show 10.
Internally, Amazon has equipped the updated model with its AZ2 Neural Edge processor. This chip is designed to enhance device responsiveness and overall performance. The microphone array has also been upgraded to improve voice recognition, particularly in noisy environments or from longer distances.
The speaker has been redesigned with a 1.7-inch rear-facing driver, which Amazon claims delivers deeper bass and clearer voice audio than earlier versions.
Although the physical appearance remains largely unchanged, subtle design adjustments include more rounded corners and an “infinity edge” glass finish on the front panel. These enhancements aim to offer better night-time readability and a smoother visual experience.
Like previous versions, the smart display features a built-in camera with a manual shutter for privacy. The device supports video calls and integrates with Amazon Alexa, allowing users to issue voice commands for streaming music, checking the weather, or managing smart home devices including doorbells and security cameras.
The new Echo Show 5 is offered in two color variants: Charcoal and Cloud Blue. It is available for purchase through Amazon.in, Flipkart, Reliance Digital outlets, and Croma retail stores.
In India, Amazon’s smart display lineup also includes the Echo Show 8, retailing at Rs 13,999, and the Echo Show 10, priced at Rs 24,999. The previous-generation Echo Show 5 remains on sale at a reduced price of Rs 5,099.
