Flipkart’s ongoing Big Billion Day sale has drawn widespread attention with significant discounts on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. While thousands rushed to grab the reduced prices, the e-commerce giant is now under scrutiny after numerous buyers reported sudden order cancellations.
The sale initially provided early access to Flipkart Black and Plus members on September 22. From today, all registered users can participate. Despite the advertised discounts—iPhone 16 priced at Rs. 51,999 for the 128GB variant and iPhone 16 Pro at Rs. 69,999—buyers are reporting their confirmed orders being annulled within hours of purchase.
Social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), are flooded with posts from disappointed customers. Many allege that Flipkart’s sale may be misleading. One user shared, “I placed three fully paid orders, and all were cancelled within four hours. This feels like a scam.” Another commented, tagging Flipkart’s support, “Orders for iPhone 16 and 16 Pro placed successfully during the sale were suddenly cancelled. What type of scam is this?”
While some users who ordered earlier reported successful deliveries, the majority of complaints stem from transactions placed after midnight on September 23. The situation raises questions about the platform’s transparency and order management processes.
Flipkart has not yet issued an official statement addressing the cancellations or explaining measures to reassure buyers.
