Adobe Photoshop has added Google’s Nano Banana AI to its suite of creative tools, enhancing the platform’s capabilities for AI-driven image generation. The announcement was made alongside the introduction of Black Forest Labs’ Flux.1 Kontext Pro, offering creators new options for automated and editable visual content.
With this integration, Photoshop users no longer need to switch applications to explore popular AI-generated styles, including 3D figurines, 4K portraits, and other viral formats. The update streamlines the creative workflow by embedding Nano Banana directly into Photoshop’s Generative Fill feature.
How Nano Banana Works in Photoshop
Nano Banana can be selected as the AI engine when using the Generative Fill tool. This allows users to instantly produce AI-generated images while retaining the ability to refine details using Photoshop’s professional editing tools. Adobe Vice President Deepa Subramaniam highlighted that the integration “combines choice in models with Photoshop’s precision and control,” providing creators a balance between automation and manual adjustments.
Benefits for Creators
The key advantage of the Nano Banana integration is that creators can correct AI-generated content without leaving Photoshop. This reduces the time spent switching between applications and allows for precise edits within the same platform. Users can:
* Instantly generate AI-driven images in trending formats
* Correct errors using Photoshop’s standard tools
* Work entirely within one application, avoiding multiple software transitions
Access and Usage Limits
Adobe is providing unlimited access to both Nano Banana and Flux.1 Kontext Pro until October 28, 2025. After this period, Creative Cloud Standard, Photography Plan, and Photoshop Single App subscribers will receive 100 lifetime credits per AI model, while Creative Cloud Pro users will have 500 credits daily. At present, Nano Banana functionality is limited to the Generative Fill tool.
Adobe emphasized that user content is not utilized for training any AI models, including Firefly or third-party engines such as Nano Banana. However, the company has not specified whether Nano Banana-generated content can be used commercially. Users are advised to assess whether the AI-generated images meet their project requirements.
