OpenAI has rolled out its ChatGPT Go subscription in India, a plan designed for users looking for a low-cost entry to premium AI tools. The service is positioned as the most affordable paid option yet and includes integration with UPI, a move aimed at simplifying access for millions of smartphone users.
1. ChatGPT Go Subscription Cost
The Go plan is available for Rs 399 per month. It undercuts the existing ChatGPT Plus plan, which is priced at Rs 1,999. Payments can be completed through UPI as well as debit and credit cards.
2. Features Included in ChatGPT Go
Subscribers get access to GPT-5, higher message allowances, the ability to upload files, faster and extended image creation, memory support for personalized responses, and a research function with usage limits.
3. How to Sign Up for ChatGPT Go
Users can access the plan through the ChatGPT website or mobile app. After logging in, they can select the "Upgrade to Go" option, proceed to "Try Go," and make the payment via UPI to activate the subscription.
4. Services Not Part of ChatGPT Go
The Go tier does not include older models such as GPT-4o, nor does it provide access to Sora for video generation or the Codex coding assistant.
5. Availability of ChatGPT Go
The plan is live for Indian users on both web and mobile platforms, ensuring cross-device access once activated.
With its reduced pricing and local payment support, OpenAI is targeting a larger base of users in India who want to explore premium AI tools without paying for higher-tier subscriptions.
