Activision on Friday announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 4 will launch across PC and consoles on Thursday, May 29, at 9 a.m. PT, delivering a suite of new maps, modes and quality-of-life improvements.
Season 4 will begin with three multiplayer maps tied to the game’s Iceland storyline: Shutdown, Fugitive and Blitz. Shutdown and Fugitive support standard 6v6 matches, while the compact Blitz map also includes a two-on-two mode. Additional maps — Eclipse, a nightclub-themed close-quarters arena, and a reworked Fringe from Black Ops 3 — will arrive mid-season.
Multiplayer will also gain three new modes. Team Elimination debuts at launch with a Kill Confirmed twist that deducts lives when opponents’ dog tags are collected. One in the Chamber returns later in the rotation, and Party Ops will offer competitive mini-games for squad challenges.
In Zombies mode, the competitive Grief format returns, pitting two teams of four against waves of undead to outlast the rival squad. Mid-season additions include Starting Room, which confines players to the spawn area, and Abomination, a new boss encounter in Liberty Falls. A Shatter Blast ammo modification will allow players to penetrate enemy armor, and three new GobbleGums will expand tactical options.
Recommended requirements for PC players include Windows 11 (64-bit), an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU. Activision said the Season 4 update will require over 100GB of free space on solid-state drives; console users should ensure comparable free storage.
To install Season 4 content, players must update their game client after the May 29 launch time. Activision advised users to verify they are running the latest Black Ops 6 version and to download pending updates via their platform’s digital storefront.
Season 4 will run through mid-July, with some content reserved for the first 72 hours post-launch and additional drops scheduled later in the cycle. Activision closed its release notice by reminding players that roadmap dates may shift and to follow Black Ops channels for real-time updates.
