Niantic has officially announced the rollout of Pokémon GO Fest 2025 in India, marking a milestone for the augmented reality mobile game and its dedicated player base. The event will unfold across five major Nexus Malls in India, forming part of the title’s global celebration aimed at encouraging real-world exploration and interaction.
Scheduled for June 28 and 29, the two-day event will run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on both days. Trainers participating in India will be able to engage with exclusive gameplay elements including research tasks, custom Pokémon encounters, and avatar features.
The host venues include Nexus Seawoods (Navi Mumbai), Nexus Select CityWalk (Delhi), Nexus Hyderabad (Hyderabad), Nexus Mall Koramangala (Bengaluru), and Nexus Vijaya Mall (Chennai). These locations will transform into dynamic community hubs designed for social gameplay and in-person trainer interaction.
In parallel, 26 additional cities across India—including Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Guwahati, Indore, and Kolkata—will host virtual meetups to extend the celebratory reach.
As a key highlight, the mythical Pokémon Volcanion will be introduced exclusively for ticket-holding players on Day 1 through a timed Special Research segment. This marks Volcanion’s first-ever appearance in Pokémon GO, offering players the chance to explore its Fire and Water dual-type characteristics in-game.
Speaking on the development, Sundarraman Ramalingam, India Manager at Niantic, said the 2025 event is centered around building strong community bonds and unlocking collaborative gameplay experiences. He highlighted that Nexus Malls provide safe and accessible environments that are closely aligned with the game’s community-oriented vision.
Nexus Malls' CMO Nishank Joshi shared that the collaboration reinforces their commitment to offering meaningful public experiences. According to Joshi, the event sets the stage for future interactive initiatives that blend entertainment with community participation.
The event also brings rotating habitats featuring exclusive Pokémon, along with the global debut of Shiny versions of Carbink and Frigibax in wild encounters. Trainers will be able to access limited-time bonuses and research objectives over both days.
