Nothing opened registrations for a closed beta of Nothing OS 4.0, based on Google’s Android 16, on the Phone (3).
Participants in the trial will see native functions of Android 16 and a redesigned system interface aimed at establishing a unified user experience. The company said the first build will deliver core platform updates and set a framework for future feature releases.
Enrollment runs through 5 p.m. London time on Sunday. Prospective testers must use a Phone (3) daily, submit feedback regularly and follow information security practices, Nothing said. Selected users will receive installation instructions by email next week.
Nothing introduced the Phone (3) earlier this year with 5G support. The 256GB model with 12GB of RAM is priced at Rs 34,999, while the 512GB version with 16GB of RAM costs Rs 72,230.
In September, Nothing plans to roll out a public beta of OS 4.0 for all Phone (3) users. To join the closed trial, sign up at the company’s official beta page.
