boAt has introduced NFC-enabled payments on its new Wave Fortune smartwatch, developed in collaboration with Axis Bank, Mastercard, and Tappy Technologies. The device allows contactless payments directly from the wrist, offering a secure alternative to physical card swipes.

The smartwatch enables Axis Bank customers using Mastercard or Visa cards to store card credentials securely through Mastercard’s tokenisation process. Users can make single-tap payments of up to Rs 5,000 at supported PoS terminals without entering a PIN. Tappy Technologies powers the backend infrastructure.

Wave Fortune is available for Rs 3,299, with an introductory price of Rs 2,599 on the official boAt website. The feature is accessible via Crest Pay, boAt’s proprietary app pre-installed in the smartwatch.

Along with payments, the smartwatch includes a 1.96-inch HD screen with a resolution of 240x282 pixels and peak brightness of 550 nits. It supports Bluetooth calling with an in-built dial pad, contact management, and gesture-based wake.

Fitness tracking features include activity milestones, health metrics, and integration with boAt Coins, a reward program that lets users redeem coins for product offers.

boAt also offers a DIY Watch Face Studio for personalised display customization. The wearable is currently available in Active Black color.
