Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra: Leaked specs reveal exciting features ahead of February 6 launch

2025 is already shaping up to be a strong year for smartphones, and after Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra steals the spotlight, it’s time for Asus to make its move. The company is set to unveil its next flagship device, the Zenfone 12 Ultra, on February 6, 2025. But with just days to go until the official launch, a reliable leak has already given us a sneak peek at what to expect.
According to Roland Quandt (via WinFuture.de), the Zenfone 12 Ultra will be a slightly toned-down version of Asus's ROG Phone 9 Pro, much like how the Zenfone 11 Ultra mirrored the ROG Phone 8 Pro. Here’s a breakdown of the exciting leaked specs:
Display & Performance:
The Zenfone 12 Ultra will sport a 6.78-inch display with a 2400×1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, which can increase to 144Hz for compatible games. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, ensuring seamless performance for gaming, multitasking, and more.
Cameras:
On the back, the Zenfone 12 Ultra will feature a 50MP Sony Lytia 700 sensor with gimbal Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view, and a 32MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. For selfies, the front will house a 32MP camera to deliver crisp and clear shots.
Battery & Charging:
The Zenfone 12 Ultra will be backed by a 5,500mAh battery (slightly smaller than the 5,800mAh cell in the ROG Phone 9 Pro), but it will still feature 65W fast wired charging. Additionally, the device will support 15W wireless charging.
Android 15 & Audio Features:
Running on Android 15, the phone will come packed with AI-driven photo and video enhancements. And in a move that’s becoming rarer in today’s flagship smartphones, the Zenfone 12 Ultra will include a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Design:
Leaked images suggest that the design will closely resemble the ROG Phone 9 Pro, with a smaller camera module and no mini-LED matrix on the back, making for a sleeker overall look.
While we’re still waiting on pricing and availability details, the official reveal is just around the corner. Stay tuned for more updates when Asus unveils the Zenfone 12 Ultra on February 6, 2025.
