Apple has released iOS 26.0.1 and iOS 18.7.1, prompting iPhone users to update their devices immediately to address a security vulnerability in the operating system.
Both updates target the same flaw in FontParser, a core component responsible for handling font files. The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2025-43400, could allow a malicious font file to cause app crashes or memory corruption. Apple has fixed the issue by implementing enhanced bounds checking. The company provided minimal details about the flaw to maximize user adoption before potential exploitation.
iOS 26.0.1 also resolves multiple bugs present in the original iOS 26 release. Reported issues, including Wi-Fi connectivity problems affecting iPhone 17 models, have been addressed in the update. Users upgrading to iOS 26.0.1 can expect improved stability and smoother device performance.
Apple recommends updating immediately, even though there are no known active exploits for this vulnerability. iPhone owners still have the option to select which update to install.
