With the arrival of iOS 26, Apple iPhone users can now manage Wallet app notifications effectively. The latest update made it possible for the users to mute the promotional notifications, a feature that has been the subject of complaints for a while.

The Wallet app integrates various functions like merging all payment cards, boarding passes, digital IDs, and even car keys, allowing the user to directly reach the important stuff without hunting through the physical wallet. Nevertheless, Apple had earlier in a year delivered the push notifications for promotions which included ads for the F1 movie, thus raising the concerns among the customers who considered it a bit too far.

At last, with the iOS 26 update, the users can finally get their hands on a tool to turn off such ads. The users will have to deactivate it manually since the feature is enabled by default.

The first step is to open the Wallet application on your iPhone, tap the three-dot icon at the upper right-hand corner, then go for Notifications. At the very bottom, switch off Offers & Promotions. Doing this makes Wallet stop delivering notifications regarding promos.

The Notifications menu, apart from promotional notifications, offers the options to silence alerts for orders, pre-authorized payments, app updates, and new features. The transaction notifications can be completely turned off, limited to certain cards, or restricted to Apple’s Daily Cash. The majority of these controls were in place before, but with iOS 26, promotions get to be managed explicitly too.

This change is indicative of Apple's listening to its customers, however, the default setting continues to keep ads on until the user manually turns them off. Turning them off might make the Wallet app a bit less obtrusive and lead to the user having a cleaner and more streamlined iPhone experience once again.
