Apple is set to unveil its iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025, with market reports indicating a uniform price increase for all variants. Industry leaks suggest the base price for the new lineup will rise by $50 in the United States compared with last year’s models.
According to information shared by Chinese tipster Instant Digital on Weibo, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are projected to start at $849 (about Rs 74,000) and $949 (around Rs 83,000) respectively. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max could be priced at approximately $1,049 (Rs 92,000) and $1,249 (Rs 1,09,500) in the U.S.
Sources indicate the iPhone 17 Pro series will begin with 256GB storage as the standard configuration, replacing the 128GB base option from earlier models. The Pro variants are also expected to receive significant upgrades in performance, design, and camera features.
Apple is believed to be adjusting prices due to increased component costs and tariffs in China. Reports from The Wall Street Journal earlier this year also pointed to possible pricing changes for the upcoming iPhone range, citing design modifications and hardware improvements as primary reasons.
The 2025 lineup is expected to include four devices — iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While the entry-level model may closely resemble last year’s design, the iPhone 17 Air could debut as the slimmest iPhone yet, with an estimated thickness of 5.5mm. Pro variants are tipped to introduce AI-driven features alongside enhanced processing and camera systems.
Apple’s event in September will confirm official prices, specifications, and release dates for each variant. Pre-orders are likely to begin within days of the announcement.
