Apple has released the third developer and public beta version of iOS 26, introducing a handful of visual modifications and under-the-hood refinements to supported iPhones. While no major features debut in this version, it continues Apple’s trend of fine-tuning the user interface and user experience ahead of the official release later this year.
iOS 26 Beta 3 is available via over-the-air (OTA) update for users registered under Apple’s Developer Program and the Beta Software Program. The update is compatible with iPhone 11 and newer devices. However, Apple Intelligence features remain restricted to the iPhone 16 lineup and iPhone 15 Pro series only.
Users enrolled in Apple’s beta platforms can access the update by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update and selecting "iOS 26 Developer Beta" from the Beta Updates section.
The latest build introduces refined aesthetics across multiple system apps. Navigation bars in Apple Music, App Store, and Podcasts now feature reduced transparency for clearer visibility. Similar enhancements apply to Safari, where transparency adapts based on the page background.
Control Center icons for Wi-Fi, AirDrop, Bluetooth, and Cellular have received subtle updates with brighter hues, aligning them with the overall system palette. Notifications now display in a deeper shade, boosting text readability in various lighting scenarios.
Four additional color variants have been introduced for the default iOS 26 wallpaper: Halo, Dusk, Sky, and Shadow. These versions showcase more dynamic transitions, especially in Dark Mode, offering users a customizable visual experience.
iOS 26 is expected to launch publicly later this year alongside new iPhone hardware. Apple will continue to iterate on beta versions through the summer, refining both system performance and UI coherence.
