With Apple’s September 9 product announcement approaching, reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro will see a price adjustment, driven by changes in its storage configuration.
Industry sources, citing a JPMorgan note, report that the iPhone 17 Pro will no longer feature a 128GB base variant. The starting capacity shifts to 256GB, raising its U.S. launch price to $1,099, about Rs 1,25,000 in India. The iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro Max are expected to maintain last year’s price range, with the Air version likely to begin at $899.
Apple is expected to open pre-orders for the iPhone 17 lineup on September 12, with deliveries scheduled from September 19, aligning with India’s festive shopping season. The iPhone 17 Pro’s India price is expected to reflect its higher storage offering.
The upcoming iPhone 17 series is expected to introduce a series of hardware updates, including:
* A19 Pro chip based on 3nm manufacturing process
* 6.3-inch ProMotion OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
* Triple 48MP camera setup with wide, ultra-wide, and periscope lenses
* 12GB RAM and redesigned titanium or aluminium frame
* New colours, including copper-orange and dark blue
* Vapour-chamber cooling and reverse wireless charging support
